Are you "pretty organized", but still feel scattered?
Driven, but having trouble getting the results from "being organized"?
Let me show you a different & better way to take your home + life from good to great.
YOU are uniquely skilled and created to do the thing that only you can do best. Whatever that thing is, you should be devoting your time, energy, attention, and resources to it.
Feeling like your home is "pretty organized" or "good enough" is what's holding you back from the greater life you know you deserve.
You just didn't know there was a way to up-level past "buying the right containers".
Who is Morgan Dodson?
In high school, I was always known as the girl who was "super organized". In college, I commuted one hour each way Mondays through Fridays, and it stretched me + took my "pretty organized" life to a WHOLE different level. Being an hour away from my classes, I had to figure out a different way to track all my assignments, work tasks, reference papers, lists, and everything else living on this earth requires you to produce at a moment's notice at the DMV.
I couldn't just "run home and grab that one paper". I had to figure out a way to access my entire life on the go, so I
Shortly after graduating college, I took a completely different route from what I studied in college, and went "all in" to become a professional home organizer. After working with clients steadily for about a year and a half, I moved 2 hours away from St. Louis where most of my clients were, and into an even-more-rural area than I was raised in.
Read: driving 2 hours to and from your client's house is a recipe for disaster. I kept trying to push my way through long, physically exhausting sessions with clients, who honestly, were not even getting that great of results. A nice looking closet here, a nice looking pantry there, but my clients weren't getting the life , but ultimately, my body had to decide enough was enough for me. I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism + had to take about 6 months off to recover. During that time,
This was ridiculous. There had to be an easier way to help people get organized I decided to take a different path from my degree in Agricultural Communications, and pursue an entrepreneurial pursuit -- so I opened a Professional In-Home Organizing business. I would drive to clients homes, and work with them one-on-one to purge + sort items in their house.
It was fun. For a short while.
I started to notice certain patterns...
Hey there. My name is Morgan Dodson and I'm a professional organizer and founder of MD Organizing. Organizing is in my DNA, and I have a passion for helping people just like you find freedom in life by helping to remove clutter from your most troubled areas. I am one of those crazy-productive, ultra-organized people you love to hate. And yep, I was born that way.
Growing up, my family had a 6,000+ sq. ft. home, but we never felt truly happy and free because every square inch was covered in clutter and disorganization. Piles of paper everywhere, mountains of unused toys only leaving paths to walk through rooms, and even rooms we weren't able to use due to overwhelming clutter. My parents had gone through some difficult financial situations, and so we moved to a roughly 1,700 square foot home in rural Illinois. After getting rid of approximately 75% of my stuff, my passion for organizing, downsizing, and simplifying came to life during those difficult times.
I know how desperately you want to wave a magic wand and instantly have your home perfectly organized. However, in my experience, getting my home and life organized was a long process. Yes, even for me, a professional organizer. This process will take time, but you can do it, and I'm here to make it easier and more fun!
My home is not perfect and I don't expect your results to be either. I will not make you get rid of all your stuff, however, my methods do stem from minimalism and the spirit of only keeping the things you need.
A common misconception people sometimes have about professional organizers is that our only clients are extreme hoarders. However, that's not always the case. My ideal client is someone who is ready to clear out the excess in their life with no hesitations or regrets in order to live their best life. My specialties include organizational consulting, which doesn't necessarily include cleaning. Purging and organizing, as well as distinguishing the difference between cleaning and organizing, are the keys to achieving the results you want.
